The College of Engineering engages in international cooperative activities with universities in Japan, Mainland China, Europe, and Southeast Asian countries. The College’s sister schools include Southeast University, Nanjing University, and Chongqing University in Mainland China; Tokyo Institute of Technology, Hiroshima University, and Niigata University in Japan; University of Brawijaya in Indonesia and Université de technologie de Troyes in France. Built on solid foundation of teaching and research cooperation with sister schools, the College’s main future cooperative development will be student admission and dual degree program. The College currently has dual degree partnerships with Hiroshima University, Niigata University, University of Brawijaya, and Université de technologie de Troyes.

To expand students’ international vision, great emphasis has been placed on hands-on courses and student international competitions. The College has long-standing cooperation with key universities in Mainland China and Japan such as Southeast University, Hiroshima University, and Tokyo Institute of Technology in the form of regular bilateral visit, joint conference, online teaching, short-term course, joint thesis presentation, and all types of hands-on competition.

In addition to combine student learning and competition with international engagement, the College is committed to admitting international students and encouraging junior faculty to participate in international academic conferences and present research papers. With an aim to strengthen students’ language ability and presentation skills, apart from pushing forward English-taught graduate courses, regulations are established to reward students who take English language exams.

§  English distance teaching is developed with sister schools in courses such as Introduction to HHT, Earthquake Disaster Reduction, and Soft Ground Engineering. Joint teaching is offered in the Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering course.

§  The International Environment Sustainable Development Program is founded to admit students from countries that have diplomatic or friendly relations with Taiwan. The program’s curriculum focuses on energy, remote sensing, and environmental engineering and infrastructure.

§  The Applied Materials Science International Graduate Master Program offers all English-taught courses and recruits international students.
